CanvasRebel: Meet Danielle Franklin
We recently connected with Danielle Franklin and have shared our conversation below.
Danielle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I’ve been blessed to have a fortunate experience growing up in a two parent home. My parents were married for 30 plus years before my father passed. My Parents met when they were in elementary school and developed their love at an early age and remained committed to one another throughout their entire marriage. They were the epitome of what a healthy marriage should look like. I observed my mother and father honor one another love each other to the best of their abilities raise three daughters, loving each of us equally. My father was a provider and come from the old school way of doing things. My father was the cook and my mother was the baker. We had meals on the table every day and our home was the go to home for Sunday dinner, holidays and if and when anyone was in need of food. My father was a natural born giver and loved to feed the less fortunate. My mother was a seamstress, aerobics Instructor, self-proclaimed professional line dancer. I observed my parents engage in healthy communication, conflict resolution and compromise when marital decisions were made. Observing my parents has impacted my life in a positive and inspiring way to the tune of me modeling their personalities and adapting their behaviors. As a result, I decided I wanted to help people enrich their lives and solve their problems to the best of my ability. I earned a degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Family Life Education. I desired to promote a healthy family dynamic to Demographics of families that did not have good role models or positive experiences growing up into adulthood. This impacted my journey so much that I became a case manager and I’ve held many positions that assisted low income and improvised Communities I’ve worked in a child welfare system Assisting with the reunification process. I am a parenting educator and a domestic violence advocate. I’ve always prioritized my health and wellness dating back to my military days and as a result of watching my mother Prioritize her wellness. My parents kept me active growing up, so it was not too difficult for me to stay committed to fitness. It has not and was not always easy to commit to my fit. I was inconsistent for many years. Most recently a year ago come July to my surprise I committed to a program uninterrupted with the assistance of my trainers and transformed my physique. I trained consistently with them for a year which awarded me the top honor for the month of July. As a result, I decided to start my business as a wellness coach to assist other women along with their journey in all areas of wellness focusing on inspiring, uplifting, accountability to name a few. My mother was my driving force to start my business. I would often reflect back to her encouraging and motivating talks. My courage came from my father as he always told me to never allow fear to dominate my thoughts. This is my path, my journey because of my parents loved me whole.
Danielle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Danielle Franklin is a native of Youngstown OH and a veteran of the US Army. I began my career in the social work case management industry 22 years ago in customer service and climbed the ranks in the field through various positions and promotions. My experiences as a family life educator as well as my childhood upbringing and military career have shaped me into what can be best described as driven. As a case management professional with high level management experience in the social work field I learned the best way to achieve success is to seek out and activate the resources accessible with well-defined objectives and goals. A belief system based on selfless giving, upholding good morals and values and a positive attitude while adapting to constant change and the ability to execute well thought out ideas. This has afforded me the ability to achieve continued success while serving individuals, children, families and agencies. I’m often told my personality sparks conversations. Being a vibrant confident individual committed to the well-being of others, a self-guided problem solver, interpersonal communicator and a goal-oriented achiever has worked in my favor. I’ve had success serving and managing multi families and clients within the child welfare foster care system. In 2018 I achieved contractor of the month grossing the highest billable hours while serving clients in the community. In 2022 I was hired as my agencies onboarding trainer to assist, develop and train new hires for field work. These achievements are attributed to the dedication and character of my work ethic. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor as a Family Life Educator graduating from Kent State University. I also obtained my associate degree from Fortis College in medical office technology. I hold a certification as a life coach among many continued education credits and is also CPR certified. In 2022 I was selected to attend a child service roundtable discussion centered around the states plan to improve the quality of care for everyone committed to fostering children, their families and support systems. Fulfilling my purpose to commit to promoting wellness within the community inspired my now one year old established business named BeautifulPromisedLife.

From a very young age I always enjoyed inspiring others to do what they love. What sets me apart is my transparency as I love to share stories on how I’ve overcome personal obstacles. I’m inquisitive and my favorite thing is learning and engaging in knowledge-based conversations. I like to consider myself as your fun fitness wellness coach. I take untraditional approaches to maintaining a positive mindset and fit lifestyle. For example, I like to display how I balance dining out, having a cocktail or glass of wine, vacationing, showing up for others and balancing it all. I like to describe myself as chic because I love to express my personality, style and mannerisms through fashion. This is the fun part to keep clients engaged. As your wellness coach, I’m uniquely trained to accommodate, identify and create individual plans for your specific needs. You reap the benefits of having someone available to provide that extra support needed to accomplish your goals. I most proud of the of the discovery and realization of journaling my journey which led me to rediscovering my love for writing and soon to be a published author. All because I stayed the course as I coached clients which led to conversations for more. Often times people who are not on this journey will not be able to relate to our needs therefore unable to advise but now I will be able to reach that audience through my writing projects. I want my everyone who’s curious, inquiring or simply just wanting to take in some useful lifestyle tips is that the journey gets lonely, discouraging and a lot of times you’ll want to simply give up. Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My transparency has allowed me to build a reputable reputation. I don’t sugar coat or add any fluff to my coaching techniques and clients appreciate and respect that. Ultimately, this is why a lot of women of clients become discouraged and disengage due to not being held accountable. Its healthy to create an awareness of bad habits and to call my clients out on their stuff. Its then they realize wellness in all aspects is about peeling back the layers to full transparency. I also make it full to participate by thinking outside the box and really getting to know my clients. I like to have conversations dating back to what they loved to do as a child or young adult, depending on where they are age wise.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My journey by far has not been easy. After my weight loss transformation and completing my personal goals of self-healing I was ready for my launch of my business. Unfortunately, I was faced with the news that my mother was suffering from an illness. This was right in the middle of building partnerships, sponsorships and promoting my wellness brand. I had to close my books to clients, stop the launch of my website and cancel my speaking engagements. I was working a full-time job at the time and with my mother living in a different city, the challenge became too great. She became a prioritize. My clients looked to me for daily tips, guidance and assignments as we would work together on physical activities, mental health and wellness in general I was no longer able to provide those services. I began to practice unhealthy daily activities such as not exercising routinely, eating late, little to no sleep and more. As a result, I lost myself in the mist of assisting my mom with her care. My mother passed away November 2023 as a result of her illness. The world stopped and I froze in time. I can’t tell you where time went and what I did but as you can image, I loved and still love my mother dearly. My mother was my entire life. What I can share with you now is as a result of my experience I am coming back stronger, and I have a book new business project dedicated solely to her. I am back in the gym training and picking up the broken pieces. I realized that life keeps moving and I made the conscious decision to move with it.
